Overview

Biopta has an extensive network of clinical collaborators that provide ethically-donated human tissue from healthy and diseased patients.

Biopta works in accordance with all relevant legislation and complies with the highest standards of ethics and quality control.

Tissue is available from three sources:

  • Non-transplantable organs
  • Residual surgical tissues
  • Post-mortem tissues

Human tissue that is residual to surgery, or is not used for transplant, is a vastly under-utilised resource that can help create more effective, safer medicines for patients.

For over seven years, Biopta has developed methods and processes for the retrieval, storage and handling of human tissue that ensure the best quality human tissue is used in your research projects. Please contact Biopta to discuss your research needs- our scientists will be pleased to discuss how human tissue can accelerate your research and improve the quality of your lead drug selection.
